Our cooperation with Eden Reforestation Projects
Eden Reforestation Projects is a non-profit organization that reforests native forests in many places around the world.
In this way, it not only fights against climate change and species extinction, but also creates jobs in mostly very poor countries.
Therefore, planting trees is not only good for the environment, but also for the population and economy of the affected countries.
Why plant trees?
Planting trees and thus reforesting endangered or already partially destroyed forests is enormously helpful in the fight against climate change.
In addition to the obvious environmental benefits, it offers other advantages.
Social impacts
By employing the local population, reforestation projects create a sustainable income and help alleviate local poverty.
Economic impact
The economic situation in the countries also improves due to the permanent employment of the population and the resulting income.
Impact on the environment
Building healthy native forests saves more CO2 and combats climate change. It also counteracts species extinction.
Where are the trees planted?
For now, our donations are mainly focused on the Madagascar region.
In the northwest of the country, mangrove forests in the coastal regions are being reforested. This also provides the local population with better protection from storms.
In the highlands, too, degraded soils are being restored through the reforestation of deciduous forests. This not only protects against flooding but also creates habitats for endangered animals and plants.
